I could never make it as a barber or a massage therapist

You mean I gotta touch these people? On their skin? 🤢. I gotta wash this persons hair? What? No! Any job where you gotta touch people all day. Sends shivers down my spine. People who have these jobs are a different breed of human. I barely tolerate having to share a seat with someone. I gotta get their filth on my hands? Under my nails? 🤢

I knew a young woman who graduated from a beauty school here. She applied for a job where I worked at the university. I had to train her that morning and asked her why she didn’t find a job with her training. She talked about how if she worked in a nail salon that so many of the customers would be elderly with really gross toenails because they couldn’t reach down and take care of them at all. Got a nauseated look on her face. She encountered situation in a bathroom at work a few hours later where someone had clogged the sink with vomit. She quit the job at the end of the week. Couldn’t handle it.

@cherokeepatti What used to get me was people who had conditions that should be treated by a doctor, but go to a hairdresser instead.
They don't say anything and surprise surprise, you have to send them away and tell them your not a physician.
I usually had more understanding of people with limited mobility, but I am am wondering now if there are restrictions on cutting toenails because of circulation issues that can lead to infection. In medical toenails have to be done by a podiatrist.
