My boss has been putting myself and another coworker in constant comparison to one another.
He has made it competitive to the point their is now animosity and dislike between us. He literally places our work side by side to display . It's irritating
Praise her work and do it in front of her, put him on the spot say her work is incredible why are you even asking? If he turns it to your work say yeah mine is amazing too but I'm biased what do you think? Keep pushing it back to him talk both sets of work up (it is all good it doesn't need criticizing). If he says anything like 'she says hers is better'. Great that's an opinion and she's allowed to express it. Etc, etc.
Sorry to hear that, i guess he need some management training You don't get the best from your team with stress and anger..... I don't believe in dividing a team for competition As manager i believe in unity, everyone walks in same direction helping each other to cross problems
@WowwGirl If that sounds possible, be careful and think about how to handle it, regardless of which end you end up on. Those type moves can generate resentment between the two of you. Also a possible raise for one and not the other. That kind of stuff happens quite a bit. On the milder side it may be his appointing someone to be in charge when he's not there. Some businesses require a designated person in charge if there is a possible safety concern. Like a commercial kitchen requires a person in charge at all times.
