If women really do get paid less than men for same hours and productivity, why aren’t economists not hiring just women to halve their overheads?

in the case of the UK there's a little law known as The sex discrimination act 1975. that makes discrimination against women in favour of men in the world of employment illegal.

In the USA it's known as The equality act.
