We all should. It is amazing how many women have it and will unless a prevention strategy is found!

@samueltyler2 Yeah. Gotta do self examinations. Got to.

@SimplyTracie the data as to the efficacy of self exams and even mammography is weak as to picking up the cancers which need such. We need to find a prevention. Eat properly, exercise, if indicated have BRCA testing.

At an outlet center in Hilton Headvwe saw this:

@samueltyler2 I will admit that eattright and staying healthy is wise but self examination is also important.

@SimplyTracie I am not saying that it is among the best we can do today, but, scientifically speaking the false positives and negatives are such that the predictive value of self examination is not good. Neither is an exam by health professionals.

@samueltyler2 If it’s not good then I shouldn’t do self exams or by a health professional

@SimplyTracie no, that is not the way to interpret the data. That there is no scientific proof of efficacy doesn't mean to stop doing it, it just means that the data is not enough to satisfy the statistical tests necessary to show it.

@SimplyTracie keep doing self exams, at various times of your period, so you know the natural changes with your period. BTW, it is often a significant other who feels a mass and calls atention to it. So boyfriends count here.
