260 spent now out of 470
This might be it for my spending this month, which means June. I have only enough for smokes, and if I read in bed more often I shall smoke less often, for while stretched out on my side, I don't smoke, I have to get up and sit crosslegged to do so.
1st is Antonio Gramsci's Pre-Prison writings and his Prison Notebooks = $170
2nd is five David Harvey books -- 2 companions for Capital and Grundrisse, and a trilogy, one of which is a Brief History of Neoliberalism, which is the topic of the last volume acquired, it looks really good
George Monbiot, and Peter Hutchison's Invisible Doctrine: The Secret History of Neoliberalism.
The rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer is the basic message here.
For me though i'm on the surface staying poor because I keep buying books!!
Well anyway i'd never become rich if I just saved x amount per month, i'd have to be playing the system, and being a baddie.
Along with YT and other online resources, ie: Harvey's website, lectures and so forth, I can perhaps become a little informed about what a monster our reality is, and discovering further how an alternative is provided.
My existing library for this topic contains other things, but far from being impressive, and I don't do this to be impressive, I do this to gain a new to me perspective with something i've only been misinformed about.
