And I think a lot of what we're seeing, hearing, and reading in the US right now is overreaction from partisan voters who went all-in emotionally on this election - and are still processing their shock at the outcome. In other words, typical online social media venting.
Was I personally disappointed in the results ? Yes. But I'm an independent moderate, and I always expect to be let down by policians on both sides sooner or later. I'm not sunk in despair, and I'm not going anywhere.
But for those who are seriously thinking about about leaving, and cutting all ties to this country with the idea of starting over someplace better - a word of advice : There is nowhere to hide. Because what's happened here is happening almost everywhere else (except Antarctica). You can either get a grip and start working for whatever you want to change here & now, or drift into expat land with no political leverage & few friends to watch your back.
Choose your ground & pick your fight. But stop pissing and moaning. That gets boring really fast ✌
