The Austrian HQ meets to discuss the matter. Nobody has a clue, until a young officer comes forward with a dossier.
"Herr General, I 'zink I found how 'ze Italians are killing all our snipers. 'Zey found out 'zat most common name among our troops is Fritz. 'Zo Italian sniper gets in pozition, yells "FRITZ!" and dumb Fritz pokez his head out and goes "Ja?" and BLAM, Italian sniper shootz him dead!"
"Koward Italian dogs! But two kan play 'zat game! Leutenant, 'vat is most common Italian name?"
"Giuseppe, Herr General!"
" ''Vell, instruct our men to do the same 'zat coward Italians are doing! Yell "Giuseppe" and shoot 'zem dead!"

Cue next morning. An Austrian sniper crawls to his nest. He cleans his optic, loads his rifle, get in position, takes a deep breath and yells:
"GIUSEPPE!"
...nobody pokes out, but a yell comes
"Is that you Fritz?"
"Ja!"
