I'm stressed and shaking, literally terrified

Thank goodness you found her in time. One time I put a round bell for my parakeet in his cage. It was the kind that had slits down the sides and a round hole at the bottom of each slit. He liked to ring the bell. One day I heard him screaming and flapping his wings, one of his claws got into the little round hole and slid down a slit and he was stuck on it. Upside down flapping his wings and hung up by one claw on that bell. I got him loose and removed that bell. Had no idea that they were a hazard for birds. Have. The bell-shaped bells in his cage now so no worries. If I hadn’t been home when it happened he’d died of exhaustion and stress.

I almost lost a cat to a piece of sewing thread.
The vet had to reconstruct her bowel because it did so much damage.
