I Want to Lose Weight

It’s been 5 weeks since I started working out, and I have only lost 2kg :( I’m not ginormous by any means, so losing weight is going to be slow. I just didn’t expect it to be this slow. I think I need to change up my diet for a week or so to jump start the weight loss. I can tell I’ve slimmed down. Honestly, I’m thinking my scale is wrong. It gives different numbers all the time :|
You may be replacing fat with muscle and that’s why you see little change on the scale.

@DecafD I hope that's it. I definitely look more muscular!

2 kg in 5 weeks isn't bad at all >.> you're doing a great job. So congrats! if you go crazy with diets and make it a chore, it may backfire and you may give up. best to integrate the whole thing into your lifestyle by making small sustainable changes :) You'll reach your goal! *cheers*

@waleskinder I drink a lot of water. I don't consume a bunch of carbs, but there are certainly ways I can reduce my intake.

The user who said about fat and muscle is very likely correct.

Also, only weigh yourself once per week at the same time. Body weight changes by a few pounds here and there throughout the week and even throughout the day. To get a consistent pattern, only weigh yourself once a week. Then you'll see a more accurate trend.

The simple key to losing weight is burning more calories than your intake of calories. So you can work out and work out but if that number isn't higher, no weight will be lost.

One pound a week is about right, actually, especially if you weren’t that much overweight to start. Stick with it. That’s great progress!

It takes time keep with it. Simple fresh foods, no need for complex diets and exercise.
