I Am Trying to Lose Weight

Made a new years resolution to walk more / take stairs instead of the lift etc. My phone says I have climbed 6 flights of stairs, and done 4,368 steps. Feels like it should be a lot more! (And it makes me wonder how few I was doing daily the rest of the time... no way was I managing 10,000).

On the flipside, it is 11am and I am feeling really hungry!

Is the goal better health or weight loss? 10k steps will help for the former, you will need to include diet in the mix to lose weight. Have you consulted a trainer and or physician?

@samueltyler2 Well both really, but firstly weight loss - not loads, 12-15lbs and a smaller waist. I've not had great food habits and am conscious of having a bit more of a belly than I'd like 😅
So I know diet is something I can improve on.

Is that weight loss within 10 % of your current weight? Using something like weight watchers will allow a relatively moderate loss that is then sustainable. Take a photo of yourself at your heaviest and paste it on your refrigerator and pantry. It will remind you of your goal.

@samueltyler2 Good advice / tips, thank you. It's making me feel I am quite underprepared! I'm 146lbs so it is around 10% yes 😮

@annamk I lost 40 pounds on weight watchers and diet 20 years ago, I am still down at the lower weight! If I did it, so can you!

@samueltyler2 Thank you. I am still within a healthy weight / BMI so I don't need to go overboard. Just want my jeans to be a little less tight 😄
