My oldest brother did that when I was about 12 and we were allowed to spear fish in ditches. He lost his spear when he nailed about a 20 lb. carp and it took off up the ditch to never be seen again as neither of us could run fast enough to catch it.😂

@MarineBob yeah but carp stinks. I got my stomach turned when I was a teenager after watching my uncle clean a large river carp, the smell was horrible. I couldn’t eat any kind of fish for a year after that.

Washington rivers will flood on occasion. Migrating salmon have been known to "swim" across the road.

@TexChik The rivers are getting out in some places here. I saw where an athletic field in Lexington got flooded and fish were swimming & flopping around in the water.
