Just got myself a couple pair of the loose fitting yoga pants I got my dad in his last days. I see why he was so grateful…they’re super comfy!

@NativePortlander1970 He was an RN for decades, and typically wore scrubs to lounge and sleep in. After he started succumbing to the cancer getting comfortable was very difficult for him, so I got him these. In his words, they’re infinitely more comfortable than scrubs.

@Zaphod42 Our Dads were very much in common, my Dad was an RN as well, and got a lot of ridicule by the female staff, UNTIL they got a fall risk patient, then they appreciated him.

@NativePortlander1970 That sounds pretty familiar! He started as an LVN in the early 80s, and for a long time was the only male nurse in any hospital he worked for. I don’t recall him mentioning catching any flack for it, even living in southern AR as we did, but he was always well liked by almost everyone he worked with and for.

@Zaphod42 My Dad was a rarity in the 70's to early 80's, when nursing was still female dominated.

@NativePortlander1970 Ya know, I just realized it was actually the mid to late 70s when he got his license…I was about 3 at the time, maybe 4. Pretty cool our dads had that in common! A rarity for the era 🙂
