@Renikari :) There's a reason for it... Rain in this part of the world happens when warm, humid air in the tropical Pacific Ocean moves northwest and when it finally gets to these latitudes, because it's colder, that humidity condenses and becomes rain... So rain in North America's west coast (particularly the Northwest) usually is the product of a warm pacific air mass coming our way... When the sun shines, it's usually because a cold, dry Arctic air mass has managed to push the warm/humid air mass to the south...
