OUR hot spell is coming AGAIN tomorrow...temps today will be around 77F...just bearable, so I will clean the community room fridge today. Tomorrow? 90F!!!! Tomorrow I will do nothing but read and watch television. And sadly, Friday it will be 89F, and I will have to do the food pantry event.

I've come back from a walk into the town centre (yes we can do that in the UK without being run down by traffic), had a mocha frappé, rode home on the bus and...no that's it for today. Curtains drawn to keep out the sun and a salad for lunch. Being retired is good for choosing when to say 'no' to activity. Sorry for you as a mum who can't do that.

I feel sorry for all of you who are suffering from unusually hot summer days. Be safe! I will mow the front lawn today, taking frequent breaks, drinking water and Gatorade. I have worked outside in hot summers all my life, but I still take it very seriously.
