Thunderstorm raging right now in Perth

About time and all. Nary a drop of rain has fallen over the last month. With only 4 mm, 1/64", having fallen since January 1st.
What with Perth's temperature yesterday reaching 39C - 102F, today's top will only reach 29C - 84F.
Enough rain will fall today so as I will not need to water the garden.

The thunderstorm lightning struck three people, a 70-year-old man was struck and is in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

A Perth teenager has described the terrifying moment she was injured by a lightning strike on a school tennis court, saying she felt her "spine vibrate" after a bolt hit a nearby basketball hoop and ricocheted into her and a friend.

A house was struck by lightning and caught fire.
Mandurah, Yanchep and Thornlie-Cockburn train lines were closed when signal boxes were damaged by lightning strikes.
A maximum of 4mm accompanied the storm.
In my culture we say rain equals goodness. And some believes prayers are more likely to be heard during rainfall.

We are finally warming up a bit.

First time in the 90°s tomorrow.

39C is way too hot! Can't get anything done outside at that temp!

@swirlie 39 is not so bad. Dry heat here in Western Australia.
Becomes unbearable at 42 and above. Can feel my face burning and almost sliding off. 😄

@Gusman
Dry heat? That's what they say in Alberta Canada in the middle of winter at -40C... "oh, but it's a dry cold".

I remember a couple of summers back when a small town in the middle of the Canadian Rocky Mountains burnt to the ground when the temp hit 49C. Check out Lytton, British Columbia for the story.
