I guess your house isn't well insulated. I blame global warming. It is causing much lower temperatures than our houses were designed for.
@hippyjoe1955 our house is OLD...they don't really know when it was built. the walls are slats and the bathroom was added in '51 according to the newspaper that was stuffed in the walls. the building became a house over a hundred years ago. ..according to our purchasing info

@LILY61 I grew up in an old farm house that had a coal fired furnace and drafty windows. We had to pump the water from the well in the yard and then drain the pump so it didn't freeze in the very cold weather. Just curious did the frost burst any water pipes?
@hippyjoe1955 one behind the cupboards in the kitchen...it looked cracked. Everything had to be moved....annoying but not terrible

@LILY61 That happens when it gets cold! We used to have heat tape around the pipes in the house once we put in running water. Kept the pipes from freezing so long as the power stayed on.
