Question about evacuations

What happens in storms like hurricane Milton for example, where people have to evacuate their homes, but they do not have a vehicle and they have pets. What mode of transportation would they take to bring their pets with them ?
👀 government should be providing transport for the masses in central areas.

Oh wait. That's right, the government doesn't care 😞

@Teggy why is everything important the "governments" responsibility? what ever happened to taking responsibility for your own actions and safety?

keep canned and dry goods stored safely, have a water source, keep a go bag ready. have a plan and don't wait around for the government to wipe your nose for you every time something bad happens.
@GerOttman heh you're asking someone whos got all his ducks in a row already. I'm with you in regards to ppl needing to take care of themselves.

However why does the government use military resources over seas where back home they can be better utilized to serve it's own people in need

@GerOttman I do agree with you to some degree; every responsible citizen should be prepared to cope with emergencies so they are not a burden on the state.

Depends on the size of the pets and just how many pets.

I have a small cat/dog carrier for my cat. They can be used on even public transportation.

I really don't know. My guess would be a friend or a neighbor would take them.
