How are the winters in the UK

My boyfriend and I are always talking about weather. He cant stand the cold the winters in Pennsylvania are usually 30s and 40s f which dont bother me. He is so whiny about how cold it is and that he wants us to move to a warmer place. The winters in other places are much harsher. Like places more north like say england its winters are regularly colder than 30f. I dont know.

In Scotland winter isn't too bad. We get some snow, but not too much. The hills are white, but the low country is OK most of the time. Lots of rain in the west and it's pretty dark - but some lovely dawns and sunsets to make up for it, and geese to listen to, brilliant stars in the sky at night and quieter roads.
