Southern Alberta Weather
Anybody that has been there is well aware of the very warm very strong winds we call chinooks. An old timer once told me about the time he took the horse and sleigh to town. Of course the old dog wouldn't stay home and it followed the sleigh like a shadow. A little later in the afternoon as they were heading home he realized there was a chinook blowing in. He whipped the horse into a full out gallop. The wind started to howl and he noticed the horse was running on melting ice, the sleigh was dragging in mud and the dog was kicking up the dust.
