The Weather 🥵

For the upcoming days over here:

32°C (89,6°F) - Today
33°C (91,4°F) - Friday
33°C (91,4°F) - Saturday
34°C (93,2°F) - Sunday
31°C (87,8°F) - Monday

... When it got to 30°C (86°F), it used to be a "hot day" over here in Belgium. People used to go on vacation in the south for these kinds of temperatures. Belgians are known to move to Italy and Spain, but you can bake just as well out here right now. And people, like myself that dislike warm weather, are pretty fed up by now.

And in the last 6 years, we'll have 5 years that we are hitting records when it comes to drought. This year, we are going to break our all time record that was set in 1976, since we started measuring.

Certain trees are already shedding their leaves as if it's autumn, just so they can protect themselves. A percentage of the fruit that should be picked in september and october are showing signs of sunburn. And it's not looking good for the vegies either. ... So yeah, wonder what the consequences are going to be once that harvest start.

... but what is happening, isn't within the parameters we would call "normal" out here.

1976 was a hot year in the UK, we talked about how hot that summer was for 5 years! There are different ways to measure weather, peak temps, prolonged periods of heat, rainfall (lack of), sunlight hours, etc All these have been noticeably more extreme since the millennium and again in the last 10 years,
And yet I'm told it's a worldwide government conspiracy to feed money to people as grants to investigate climate change.

Ugh I hear you. I love going to the beach but if I cant, I generally dislike the heat. Here in Massachusetts, it was 98 degrees ( F) last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then 101 (F) degrees on Friday and Saturday...😫🥵 Sunday was a cool front at 95. Lol. All days were humid too. We typically do see temps like that here, but not for nearly a week in a row! No MORE PLEASE!! I hope you also get a cooldown.

@TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart I'm not saying that I won't be alright. I'm saying that this is fucked up when it comes to what is "normal" here. Neither our houses nor our vegetation are equiped for this

i would love those temps during summer here.

I don't like the UK heat it's too muggy. We're expecting 37 over the weekend. I want autumn
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@Ironicman Highest temperatures I've been in were daily around the 50c mark peaking at 52 but it was a crisp heat. Same with lower temperatures which are much easier to withstand when it's a dry cold. The UK always seems to have an associated dampness with it which is penetrating.
You're even hotter than us in summer and we're closer to the equator 😂
