I have had the exact same sympathy for every innocent US citizen killed across the board with the exception of criminals for as long as I am able to recall. I can’t understand why that isn’t the belief of every American. I was aged 8-13 through the killings of JFK, Malcolm X, MLK and RFK and time there was no difference regardless of which one. There has been no massing shooting (2 or more victims) since that I have ever felt anything besides sadness and the sense of something being wrong. Why do people feel compelled to “take sides” when this horror occurs?

@jackjjackson i assume that last question is a rhetoric one. Why are there proportionally more such killings in the US then anywhere else in the world, except in wars?

Nope it was an actual question. Seems to at all there are are theories about that. I think many things are involved. Mental health issues and mental health meds misused. Many divergent and publicly expressed “opinions” which lead to hostility. Too much drinking and drugging. Disrespect of others. Too fast and too much access to killing machines. Too much publicity. Some of my thoughts anyway. Maybe in some countries genocide is any even worse thing? @samueltyler2

@jackjjackson humans have developed into clans tens of thousands of years ago. The strongest survived and prospered, so the skills became part of the human genome. All of the other issues you mentioned are mounted on top of that.

@Thrust prove what? please go read about evolution and the genetics of the human "race"

What do you think explains the killings? @samueltyler2
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@jackjjackson exactly what I stated, anger, on top of the human nature to want to both defend your turf and beat out your neighbor for space.
jackjjackson · M
Anger about what? @samueltyler2
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@jackjjackson are you serious? everything seems to incur an angry response. our society is sitting on a tinder box, regardless of which side you are on.

Everything? I love my family and friends. No anger there. Love my life. No anger there. I do have political and societal views however in no ways to I think anyone needs to share them. It’s more pragmatic than emotional. What do you think makes you angry? @samueltyler2
