What is your opinion on guns?

I’m a Canadian so I don’t see very many guns unless you have a hunter or two in the family with a rifle or two.

Although I never held a real gun and I FEAR them with every fibre of my being. I respect those who love guns and their rights to do so!

I fear guns but the person holding it is a different story, I know most people with guns have a level head because you can’t be irrational with a gun.

I carry a gun especially when travelling. A breakdown means death or hijacking. I would rather let the criminal fear his victim.

@Sleepysheep Thanks for the offer, only when I have to choose in an emergency can that be decided.

I'm Canadian too.

I shot guns plenty when I was in the military. They're like a lot of tools - dangerous to some people and useful to others.

But anyone who wants to play with military-grade firearms should join the military to do it, and be subject to a chain of command and military discipline, or they're just playing out some some immature childish fantasy.

@Sleepysheep please don't say that "thank you for your service" stuff to me. It's just a job.

@DealingWithTrouble but I might point out that an AR 15 is NOT a military grade weapon. Also it is not AUTOMATIC. You have to pull the trigger each time. It is NOT a high powered weapon. Must states it is to light to legally hunt deer. Suitable for hunting coyotes, muskrats etc.
I am Canadian. And in most cases guns are not so much the problem.

Most Canadian "gun nuts" also think most Americans are nuts.

Most gun enthusiasts in Canada and elsewhere don't equate manhood with barrel length or calibre.

Most also don't buy a gun just for the hell of it.
Americans like the results that the presence of guns has on their society and voted to continue.
