I love to play the Pokemon games

As much as I love them there is something that all was bugs me about them. I kind of wish they would take 3 or 5 of the games and combine them into one huge game. So instead of like 240 why not 1000 pokemon over these 3 or 5 islands. U can simply take a plane or ship and go to another island if u want. I would love to be able to rechallenge any of the trainer's. I would love more caves or stuff to explore and have like a boss pokemon at the end. It would be cool if a area was to hard u would have to go back there after u trained a bit more.

I think GSC and their remakes are still the closest to what you describe, with one full additional region and a meaningful amount of content after the E4. It's confusing that they never did that again, given how well liked it was.

One could point to the Sevii Islands in FRLG, or even the northern island after the E4 in DPPt, but those don't rise to the level of full additional regions, if you ask me. It would be cool to be able to hop between major regions and encounter their respective native pokemon within one game cartridge.

I loved the Gen 1 games for the Gameboy, but I lost track after Gen 2. I thought 150 in the first was a lot. Then they give us another 100, then 135... Now there's 1000?! Maybe Pokémon just wasn't my thing in the long run, lol.
