Remember the good old days where you bought a game [I Am a Video Gamer]

and you could still play it if the company went under. Why did we ever allow them to offer us virtual ownership?
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
I think the majority of people are not aware of the real issues of virtual ownership, I think people talk about it but it only reaches a minority of people who specifically seek out those issues, they must already know to begin with and want to find out more.

So they can get away with it because the majority really doesn't dig that deep nor care nor do those issues ever reach their mind. They'll just move on to another game and consume because consuming without knowledge is something they're good at.
Remember when you can buy a game and not have to be online...

Not only that, I remember back when you bought a game they actually sold you the entire damn game. Not just part of it. Now they eseentially just sell you a partial beta.
