1) The Train, a 1964 WWII film with Paul Scofield and Burt Lancaster.
Fantastic.

3) The First Great Train Robbery (known in the United States as oi]The Great Train Robbery[/i]) - Sean Connery and Donald Sutherland.

a) From Russia with Love, 1963, with Connery, of course
b) Skyfall, 2012, with Daniel Craig. The opening sequence features a train quite prominently, and is the opening to a movie which could have easily been the last Bond movie.
5) The Polar Express, 2004, w/Tom Hanks et al.
6) The Taking of Pelham One Two Three
a) 1974 version, w/Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw
b) 1998 version, w/Edward James Olmos, Vincent D'Onofrio
c) 2009 version, named "123" instead of "One Two Three", w/Denzel Washington, John Travolta
7) Runaway Train, 1985, w/Jon Voight, Eric Roberts, Rebecca De Mornay
8) Around the World in 80 Days, 1956, w/David Niven, Cantinflas, Shirley MacLaine. Trains are inevitable, esp. since that's where Fogg typically plays whist to pass the time.

Chaos reigns in the New York City subway system when heavily armed criminals, led by a mastermind named Ryder (John Travolta), hijack a subway train and threaten to kill everyone on board unless a large ransom is paid. Dispatcher Walter Garber (Denzel Washington) uses his extensive knowledge of the transit system in a bid to outwit the hijackers and save the hostages, but one question remains: even if the hijackers get their money, how can they possibly escape?
