Aisle seat on a longer flight, window on a shorter.

Aisle because I like the feeling of having more room by being next to an aisle, and being able to easily leave to use the bathroom. Having to get up to let someone else leave is a minor inconvenience.

Window on a shorter flight because chances are I won't be getting up, and I'd rather just stay put and not have to get up for anyone else.

If first class is off limits ( 🤣 ) then in the middle of the plane, an aisle seat, with the aisle on my left.

1st class away from anyone else in first class would be nice. Never been in first class tho
