I got an email yesterday when i was walking back from the shops, from the delivery company Yodel. It said: Your package has been delivered and since you were not at home, we have left it in your allocated safe place, your front porch.
Now.....i do have an allocated safe place. Its a big garden box behind the side gate that has been registered on delivery sites as 'my safe place' to drop parcels. However.... this was clearly ignored and they chose to leave the item inside my front porch.
This is apparently my front porch!!!! Silly me!! I always thought it was a plant pot!!! As you can see...I don't even have a porch!
I used to work at Bed Bath and Beyond corporate, and trouble shooting was part of my job. We had a standard script that we used to have to say to our poor customers during the Christmas season.
"Have you walked around the property to look for your package? "...was part of our script. One woman did, while I waited on the phone. It was raining where she lived, and the delivery people had left her package under a bush...🤣🤣🤣
package delivery seems a bit lax in general at the moment. i have sympathy though cause it must be stressful driving a big van and going to all these addresses you've never been to.
they didn't ring the doorbell for my red nose or for my headphones lol.
i think they were trying to be cute, putting flowers in a plant pot. i think plant-theft is rare but has happened apparently.
@SteveTomms last week.... hubs and I got home to find a pallet of wood...over 9ft tall right outside our front door! We are no1, but the label clearly stated it was for no16. It was our neighbours new shed. No way we could move it!!! Luckily, he got his don in law to help him strip it down and load it in a van to take it about 50meters up the road!
Because on the postie's PDA handheld system..theres options to choose,where to leave safely,tis one couldn't be arsed, obviously,to tap in manually,where he left it!!!!
