I bought a motorcycle

https://similarworlds.com/vehicles/motorcycles/4578467-Heading-out-to-look-at-a-motorcycle

Well, I looked, left, went to look again. The bike I was looking at was okay, just wasn't 100% sure. It just seemed a little tawdry aside from the chrome and pipes. The aftermarket seat sucks, and the aftermarket grips are as bad as the seat. Not sure what people are thinking with some of the mods they do. Then I noticed the clutch housing was loose. I started thinking "what if something I really want comes in after I buy this?" I decided to think about it some more.

Sure enough, a 2009 FXSTCI Softail Custom came in. Actually, it's the original bike I saw on their website before it went offline. Evidently, someone backed out on the purchase. I went to the shop Saturday and left contemplating. It has some rust on the front spokes, other than that, it's very much like my old bike. Love the deep purple and silver 2-tone, and the only aftermarket parts are pipes and pegs. 8900 miles.

After thinking about it over the weekend, talked to them, and they came down another $300, so I bought it. Just need to figure out how to get it home (it’s 37F right now and I don’t have a helmet).

I'd be ok with either really. I had a thing for Italian iron back in the day myself.

@GerOttman should’ve kept some. They’re worth money now.

@Funlov Technically I still have the '73 Ducati. It's in what you might call 'barn' condition, be a big project to restore.

@GerOttman it’s probably worth money just the way it is they don’t make a better racing Bike

@GerOttman yes they don’t build them like they used to. The only problem is you got to build a big shop I built a 5000 square-foot shop on my acreage and then you fill it full of stuff very expensive hobby.
@Funlov I could have easily went down that path. When my then-wife moved into our new place many moons back, we had 5 cars and 2 motorcycles.
