Would you bring in your car to a shop ....

If you heard clicking sounds upon turning, Near the steering wheel area, just once?

This occurred in my car a few days ago and I just wondered if one could drive it a while more and gauge if the clicking continues, or bring it in to a shop at the first sound?

Also two weeks ago I heard one knock like sound, inside the middle of the steering wheel, but hasn't occurred since.

Until the sound is more regular there isn’t much point in having it checked out. If a sound starts happening once a day or more I’d check into it then.

@Muthafukajones So even if there were a few clicking sounds, because it's been just once, it should be ok for a bit to drive?

@Muthafukajones I think you had mentioned steering just goes sometimes , but like you mentioned now, it probably would have a noise occurring frequently?

@Coralmist once there is a regular noise or vibration in the steering column it can fail at any time. It’s harder for mechanics to diagnose a problem without a readily available system.

The risk is that you take it in and pay more for them to find it or

You wait until it’s broken enough for them to easily identify the problem.

@Muthafukajones One other query, you don't think the existing fishtailing over bumps led to any problems in the steering unit? I don't think so but I don't know much about cars . It had an issue with fishtailing when I bought it but it's not been repaired yet. Two mechanic couldn't even locate why it's fishtailing.
