Removing themselves from the gene pool?🤔

I always wear mine and everyone in my car will be properly restrained or the car goes nowhere. From 1995-2005 I was a part-time EMT and ran numerous collisions on freeways and rural roads with a paramedic partner. Some were fatalities that, even with seat belts, the laws of physics were too much for these souls.

But when you pull up to a 90's Pontiac split in two and all occupants are standing on the side of the freeway, and during assessment tell you they were 3-point restrained, the evidence is quite clear that seat belts save lives.

Yup... seat belts properly worn may well save your life or prevent much more serious injury.

To not wear one would feel very strange.

A few times, after making a quick stop and driving off, I have realized that I have forgotten to re-attach my belt, and I instantly feel almost naked at the realization.

Yes, because at the speeds we travel in cars, it is absolutely necessary.

When I was a kid, I had a friend who got into a car accident. She was seated in the BACK SEAT, and flew out of the windshield.

I met her several years after this happened, but she had stitches everywhere, on her legs, arms, upper chest and even across her face.

I have since I was around 11 or so when it became the law and my dad refused to drive me anywhere if I wasn’t wearing it.

Its the first thing i do when i get in the car.

I wont even sit in a parked car without one on.

not a good idea not wearing a seat belt if your car has airbags, they are designed to work with seatbelts. Modern cars are designed to absorb an impact that is why they crumble up in an accident with the car occupant s in a safety cell, no doubt you are against such legistlation forcing car manufacturers in making cars safer

My colleague finished work at midnight and got into a taxi home. He was tired and didn't bother with the seatbelt. A car crashed into his taxi, and he was badly injured. It took him months to get better, and as he wore no seat belt, he couldn't make a claim.

Legal requirement since '83 in the UK.

These days you have to wear them even if in the back.
Although ironically I'm not sure cab or bus drivers are held to the same thing.

Who can stand listening to the alarm if you don't put it on? (And it's not very comfortable if you connect it up and then sit on top of the belt lol🤗)

I always wear mine. I may snap it on after the car gets rolling, but it's always in place soon after I start driving.

i only dont wear mine if my drive is less than 6 blocks

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t. I’d be dead or seriously maimed now if I hadn’t been wearing one.

With the way people drive nowadays around here in my area I do wear mine.

Damn vehicles keep beeping at em if I dont

I wear a seatbelt and have no problem with it. Anything that might help someone survive a car crash has my approval.😞

I always do and glad I had on when hit the other day
