Is it weird if the delivery guy wants to take a photo of your ID or driver's licence?

Was talking to my mum earlier and was telling me that when her groceries were delivered, she was asked to provide id so he could take a photo because she bought alcohol

And he needed to show it to his boss

And she said to him that she always buys alcohol and no one has ever asked for a photo of id before,
And she also said that she's like 100 years old lol

But yeah, he eventually left and didn't take a photo of the ID

But my mum was telling me that she felt uncomfortable because of all the scams that have been happening lately

It's illegal here. They can check it, nothing else. And it's your responsibility to not allow them to take your ID out of your sight. You can actually be fined if you hand over your ID to someone else for extended time, for example at the dorm or at a hotel. It's forbidden for them to keep your ID without you being present.
Asking to see your ID is mandatory here if there's any doubt possible. You do not have to comply with them taking a photo of it and I'm not sure they can even ask for that.

I've no idea if that's a thing over here. The thing over here that gets people angry is when a store asks to scan their ID, like if they want to purchase alcohol

They're supposed to check. I'm not sure if they have to take a photo, but I've heard of that.

In Australia it is illegal. The delivery driver can look at the drivers licence but cannot take any photos
Maybe he’s coming back later

I wouldn't do it.
