Syrup burn smell near my steering wheel

Very strange to smell that, it started 2 day ago. Then was fine the next day. Now again a strong syrup smell near my steering as I drive. Any ideas??? This time it lasted ten minutes.

If it’s inside the vehicle, most likely a heater core. It’s the only place coolant enters the passenger compartment.

Monitor coolant level to verify. If this is the worst possible time ever to have an expensive car repair, you can bypass it, but you won’t have heat
