Opinions on Take 5 oil change

I’ve been a few times, always worked out each time but I really like valvoline. I’ve been told a good bit it’s not the best place to go to. Go ahead with your experiences/opinions

On my old Suzuki (2001) it was going through oil a lot. I bought a case of Valvoline long life stuff and put that in and damned if the oil burn didn't stop. Not sure why that fixed it, but I am a Valvoline fan for life now. Car is still going strong.

@JamesBugman Which model is your Suzuki out of curiosity. I have a Subaru from 1988 which seems to prefer Royal Purple brand and if I use whatever is on the shelf at Chevron gas stations I will get the smell of boiling oil when I park it after a spirited drive.
@RunTheJulz Its an old esteem wagon. Over 300k on it now and still has the original clutch and runs fine.

@JamesBugman That’s the sign of a well made and well maintained vehicle. The only Suzuki I have ever driven was a Samurai that I rented in Chile for about 3 weeks and it was geared for off-road use more than highway driving but I adored it on the dirt roads of the northern Patagonia area and southern Lake region countryside.
I still have a Subaru Outback wagon from 1998 that’s a manual transmission as well as my 1988 Subaru GL wagon which I much prefer to anything with an automatic transmission but the 1988 has 4wd with hi and low and a locking center differential so it actually works better than the 1998 off-road and on the snow covered mountain roads where I live. I have maintained both of them and I plan to drive them until they are fully used up. Then it’s onto a 2001 third generation Toyota 4Runner which I inherited. I much prefer a well built Japanese vehicle to anything else. Happy motoring in your wagon. 😊☺

Valvoline is the best. I’ve been going there for years. Everyone working there is very knowledgeable about cars and always give good advise to save you money on any repairs.

We have at least one in my town I have heard good and bad. If you like them that's good. I have heard they are always up selling.

I have never been there,i change my own oil,i spend about $27.00 for full synthetic oil and a filter, and it takes me about 45 minutes from start to finish. :)
I change my own oil, but have used various brands often other than valvoline.

I've always gone to valvoline
Do it yourself? Much cheaper

usually do it myself; Mobil1 or Castrol for cars; Pennzoil for trucks and heavy equipment

Change my own oil, use import oil in Honda and valvoline in pontiac
