Okay I resubmit my reply. The Studebaker guy is right. It's a Speedster as can be seen stamped in the trim. But I believe it's a 55 because the trim has the same door alignment as your picture unlike the other ones pictured. I could only find a worthy photo to show the trim in this awful green. Also the passenger rear window matches.
ShenaniganFoodie · 36-40, M
@Gibbon 1955 Studebaker President Speedster
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@ShenaniganFoodie yeah yeah I dropped the President. So did some of the articles I read about the Studebaker engine development. Not All articles described the R1 and R2 version of the Lark. It was assumed. So drop your nose out of the air. I owned up to the mistake in my first guess but the trim is very similar at first glance between the PRESIDENT Speedster and the Fury right to the door alignment with the door open.
FEELING BETTER? Geeze Louise.

Because of the side trim it's possibly a 1956 Plymouth Fury. Without seeing the rear end and fin size it's hard to confirm.

@Gibbon A real boat!
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@TexChik Thank you Samsung auto correct. I fixed it. Maybe the new stupid AI thought when I said side trim it thought I was talking about a woody 🤣
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@TexChik Still not the monster of a late 50s high finned Cadillac.
That’s definitely a Studebaker, a 55 speedster I think but the side emblem is a Studebaker, the rear windshield pillar tilting back instead of forward was the main giveaway
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Onestarlitnight After another close up of the trim I agree.
Studebakers are very rare these days, so you might be able to scratch the itch with a '57 Chevy Bel Air; much more common.

@ElwoodBlues This is GORGEOUS
fun4us2b · M
That looks like a Studebaker President Speedster - I agree 1955 or 56...
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Onestarlitnight was right, it's a Studebaker Speedster. In the pic you can see it written in cursive next to the Studebaker logo on the chrome strip
ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Onestarlitnight yeah I agree, I'm gonna look up some videos about them actually because I should learn more. I saw this bagged Studebaker Wagonaire & I frickin' loved it. It had this cool/weird slide away roof on the back 😅

ChiefJustWalks · 26-30
@Gibbon I had to zoom in to even read the stamp lol
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@Onestarlitnight They were also ahead of the big 3 in the development of horse power with the Avanti and Lark. If it weren't for the intra company purchases and bickering they might have survived long enough to actually compete in the muscle car wars. A rare supercharged Lark is worth a fortune today.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
Expensive, I know that much.
Looks a bit like a Chevy Belair from the '50s, but the script on the side says something different.
ArtieKat · M
Classic! (I don't know what marque it is though)
JackHoff · 46-50, M
Looks like a Buick special
@Gibbon
I know it’s not a Buick , the advertising picture I posted matches the chrome, logo, roofline angle and chrome trim perfectly, the rear window in the ad is down but the unique shape of the opening is clear, she’s picturing a Studebaker all right!!
JackHoff · 46-50, M
@Onestarlitnight @Gibbon I was the one who thought it was a Buick but it is a Studebaker.
@JackHoff it’s a nice car, the partial image and the angle make it look bigger than it is, it’s much more compact than the Buick but the picture makes it difficult to tell.
Cars of that era were similar in appearance so pinning it down wasn’t easy

MysterySci
22-25, F The car in the picture is a 1955 Studebaker Speedster.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
