My 30 y/o Landcruiser rego due this month. Rego + taxes is about A$600 then CTP insurance (mandatory) nearly $400 then full comp insurance (optional) about A$500. Nothing about vehicle rego and insurance is cheap in this state of Oz.

@Dlrannie the actual rego component of NSW rego is $68 but there is a big tax added on based on vehicle weight. It's like $550 for my 2.96 tonne gvm 1992 Landcruiser 4wd.

@Gusman and we're a big country same size basically as mainland USA with very few people so taxes and charges and government services cost much more per capita

The Audi costs is $2,598 for 12 months but I insured it Personal & Business

Dumb thing to do as I was not thinking at the time.
