Are Hyundai's and Kia's junk?

I was going through Reddit and reading horror story after horror story about engines suddenly failing on models as recent as 2020, along with various other problems. And then their customer service is apparently a joke? I've never owned a Hyundai or Kia so I wouldn't know any of this first hand. Maybe someone on here could share an experience.

My Kia Sorento is 7 years old, and has been good so far.....I’ve had other cars that weren’t close to as reliable as this one.

@DragonFruit Yes but please let me know when it is 29 years old and still looks and works like brand new... with the original engine, transmission and exhaust...

@pdqsailor1 I’m 67....I don’t know if I’ll be alive 22 years from now. I’ve also never owned a car for 29 years, and don’t know that I’d keep a car that long even if it was working fine. It’s great if you have a car like that, but you don’t have to keep a car that long for it to be a good car.

I am 65 now.. and I don't have a good car, I have a GREAT car, very likely the best vehicle that has ever been built, to a standard not to a price and it was intended to be as durable as it is...plus it is nothing other than a pleasure to drive and to own...and when they bury me, the car will still be just fine. @DragonFruit
