Are Hyundai's and Kia's junk?

I was going through Reddit and reading horror story after horror story about engines suddenly failing on models as recent as 2020, along with various other problems. And then their customer service is apparently a joke? I've never owned a Hyundai or Kia so I wouldn't know any of this first hand. Maybe someone on here could share an experience.

I have driven them.. I won't own one, I won't rent one... you ask if they are junk compared to what exactly? Compared to what I own and drive? Yes - disposable garbage.. and there are far too many of these mobile speed bumps on our roads from people who are prepared to compromise everything to own an excuse for a car. BTW - I am no fun of Corollas or Civics or other minimally capable excuses for transportation either.. I want durable vehicles that drive well and do not get in the way because they fail to proceed down the road on an orderly efficient and reliable basis. I am as far from fickle as it gets in the selection of a vehicle.. Once I make a choice - I stay with it..
