Are Hyundai's and Kia's junk?

I was going through Reddit and reading horror story after horror story about engines suddenly failing on models as recent as 2020, along with various other problems. And then their customer service is apparently a joke? I've never owned a Hyundai or Kia so I wouldn't know any of this first hand. Maybe someone on here could share an experience.

I had a kia min van for 12 years that never had a problem, except warranty issues, and died long after it reached its 300,000 mile. And even then it was very fixable, we just had no need for it any longer.
So, no? But like any vehicle under a brand it depends on how you drive it, how you care for it and which model it is.
