Computerized cars are BS!! I drove an older car with a straight six, carbureted, with electronic ignition.

28 miles per gallon!! 28!! And it can get out of it's own way.
Most modern sixes get about 15 mpg. Pathetic! My built full size J series Jeep, with a small block chevy engine, got 18 mpg. I have driven older cars with over 400,000 miles and they still run great, while newer cars are falling apart at 200,000 miles.

My hubby put a 350 in a jeep Rubicon build he did. Lift kit, 4x4, external light bar. Its a monster and those giant tires have yet to get stuck out at the farm
@TexChik 💪😎 Jeeps are fun.

Mine is a 6, and it chokes a little when I hit it. I always used to have a V8 because I wanted to be able to boot out of the way really fast.

Well, you can't complain about <30mpg if you choose to buy such "gas-guzzlers"! :-)

I tend to agree with your point about the potential age of cars, but you don't say how much maintenance and overhauls were necessary to achieve such high mileages.

Not to mention no corrosion, which is the biggest killer of cars. Perhaps you live in a rather arid area a long way from the sea! Mechanical and electrical parts are replaceable but a vehicle so weakened by corrosion that it is dangerous, has "had it" .

They made of plastic and fiberglass
