If you have the cash for a luxury sedan would you go for which and why?

I personally would choose a japanese for hassle free maintenance and a good resale value.

Germans are more fun but they come at a cost which isn't feasible for me along with the depreciation.

Lexus is made by Toyota which happens to be the highest quality car maker out there.

BMW cost a ton to maintain.

Ya know, when it comes to those privileged enough to own a BMW, they often complain about their cars more than anything. Maybe they expected better. Understandably so.

@Beatbox34 That sucks. Were I live a car can be driven no matter how old it is, as long as it can pass emissions and it doesn't have any issues that would make it a danger on the road.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@CestManan Yup the government has a rule that says the car should be scrapped or else it'll be impounded and scrapped by force of law.

This is in India.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SubstantialKick A car should be given a chance if it can pass the emission test and fitness test. But sadly, lawmakers want new cars to be purchased hence this.

If I had the cash for a luxury sedan, I'd probably still go for a vehicle I can get use out of... SUV. I'm more about what all I can use a vehicle for. lol
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SW-User An SUV is practical lol. I probably wouldn't own one as it makes no sense in the city I live in.

@Beatbox34 It may be practical, but I love the nice ride too. lol
You can't change me! I need an SUV! lol

@Beatbox34 if I lived in a city I would not own a vehicle
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
I think I would go for a Lexus, for the same reasons.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SubstantialKick I just did a calculation of the dealership charges on a Lexus and a BMW 5 series.

The Lexus faired better and is the reliable one amongst the two. It's worth every penny.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@Beatbox34 I’ve owned both. From a value and comfort standpoint, the Lexus blows BMW away. To be fair though, a driving enthusiast would choose the BMW as would someone unconcerned with value.

I commute an hour plus each way to work so the comfort of the Lexus matters more to me. If I had a very short commute, I might choose another option.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Adogslife I agree. The driving experience in a BMW is a night and day when compared to a Lexus.

However, the long term ownership and resale of those cars bother me. It's a nightmare when a module starts failing on them.
we don't "have the cash" here

amerika talking mind u

if we get cash we feed the baby then the dogs and before that the medical bill

get the picture?
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Elevatorpitches I understand.

It's a scenario if one were to spend then what would they choose.
@Beatbox34 I understand

Neither even if I had the money
I'll never buy Japanese
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@pdockal Why so?
pdockal · 56-60, M
@Beatbox34 I buy American ... and I know that most are just assembled here ... my truck has almost 300k miles and last truck had 275k before totaled
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@pdockal Makes sense
Fluffybull · F
Definitely Japanese. I've only ever owned Jap cars and they've never broken down, even after 15 years.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Fluffybull They never do. Truth be told "They'll outlive us" 😂.

Having owned one, I can really vouch for that.
Adstar · 56-60, M
Japanese workers take more pride in their work..
pdockal · 56-60, M

PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
