Over a ton of the stuff left with and only a day or so of the voyage to go. Can't have been very popular.

I only wish what after all became a grave, be left alone and all pilfering banned permanently.

@WillaKissing Oh dear! It is difficult on things like these sometimes to judge what people mean; but getting all bent out of shape is them going a bit far!

I must admit I'd not known garlic bread was even common in 1912! There won't be any still down there of course: it would have rotted away quite rapidly.
