What do you think about 'connected vehicles' that have a wireless link 'back to base' ?

This is creeping into most vehicles. All EV's now have it because they are treated like phones and computers in terms of being disposable devices that 'require' regular firmware/software updates for 'functionality and security'.

What do you think of this? Anyone with an open mind knows this is opening the door for businesses (like insurance), governments, and car makers to monitor (nearly in real time) how you use and drive a vehicle with embedded telematics, integrated computer based electrical systems, etc.

Are you happy to have your privacy infringed almost by default?

('require' regular firmware/software updates for 'functionality and security'.) Has me worried. Can other people remotely access your vehicle?
I heard Tesla's EV Ute thing, had a steering wheel that's not actually connected to the axle.. That doesn't seem safe.

@Thevy29 It already exists in the bi-directional telematics support for limited 'remote control'. Remember a lot of cars (esp EV's) have 'remote start' functions and/or 'remote climate control' (this is esp true of EV's), and that by inference can or could in the future be used to control/limit access to your own vehicle by insurers, government departments, vehicle manufacturer, manufacturer dealerships, and other parties.

Most vehicles all have ADAS systems and are polluted with safety tech now and those are an 'open door' to remote monitoring/control and access restrictions, plus use by malicious entities. Imagine a remote actor (maybe a sophisticated state-sponsored entity) being able to forcibly switch off or deny you access to your vehicle at any time or place where it can establish mobile phone network or similar connectivity with remote systems...
