Have you ever hit an animal with your car? How much damage did it do?

My son hit a racoon coming off the freeway because a Semi was riding his ass and he was afraid if he stopped the semi would hit him. I am glad he didn't get in an accident with a semi but my front bumper is wrecked and I can't afford to fix it so I guess my car just has character now. Feel bad for the racoon he said he was going about 50 when he hit it.

No, I haven't, and "raccoon" has two "c"s in it.

@NativePortlander1970 What do you expect when you make the same error twice in one post?

@FoxyQueen Was this your post? I don't think it was, was it? Didn't your parents tell you it is rude to crash in on other people's conversations like that?

@NativePortlander1970 And you should know better than to encourage ill-mannered trolls.

@NativePortlander1970 As long as she knew what you had said, no correction was necessary and it is petty to even point it out.

Not to mention, correcting someone's spelling and grammar stems from oppressive systems that deliberately punished minorities for using different vernacular, even though, once studied, found that vernacular actually adhered to grammatical rules better than the English being taught.

Literally no reason to correct someone. If you didn't understand what was said, then ask for clarification. Otherwise, you're just trying to make someone feel shame so you can feel superior and no one's got time for that crap.

@MissBarbara Is this your first time on the internet?

As many before me have said, social media is created to provide open discussion from numerous sources, not necessarily between the OP and commentor. If you didn't want other responses, you should have PM'ed it. Otherwise, it's open to anyone to comment.

As for being an ill-manner troll, you started it by shaming someone. If you can't take criticism, don't dish it out.

@MissBarbara Nope. Was just trying to assure @NativePortlander1970 that he wasn't in the wrong for being upset and his opinion was valid. Which is what friends who care do for one another when someone comes in and gives a petty correction where none was asked for.

I couldn't care about the esthetics of words as long as I can understand what is being said.

@FoxyQueen Um, huh?
@FoxyQueen This is obviously her first time online, a clear cut english teacher no doubt.
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@NativePortlander1970 What can I clarify for you?
@FoxyQueen I'm trying to figure out why you're chastising me for calling out a troll.
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@NativePortlander1970 Oh no, that wasn't at you. I was speaking about how she was in the wrong if she understood what you had said. Sorry if that was confusing.
@FoxyQueen It's alright, sometimes in the heat of debate things get mixed up.

@NativePortlander1970 @MissBarbara

Ok you two let's settle down. However the laffability is worth at least two of these...

PS - Is "laffability" a word? Will the real grammar nazi please stand up?
TexChik · F
@MissBarbara Grammar Nazi? Here? Say it ain't so!
FoxyQueen · 51-55, F
@NativePortlander1970 I mean, I was speaking to you, but I was explaining why her actions were wrong, and actually quite racists. And that unless she didn't understand what you were saying, which she obviously did, she had zero reason to correct you.
@PatKirby luffbiliry, wow how to combine words. YOU mean being guffalble. gulliable, and I'll join one more for you it's unflattering.
@FoxyQueen Got it
