Anyone here who doesn't drive a car?

I'm grateful to have the privilege of owning a vehicle, but sometimes I wish I had other options to get where I want to go, you know? Public transportation here in the Chicago suburbs isn't the greatest. We have lots of underserved areas.

Me. I stopped driving when my old car died, back in the 90s. I crunched the numbers, with insurance, payments even on a used car, and gas. There’s also the fact that I’d have to park on the street (my building pre-dates cars and there’s no garage), and the city has some of the worst incidents of auto vandalism in the Bay Area. But we do have excellent public transportation. So between that, taxis and Uber/Lyft, I make it work.

@bijouxbroussard I have to park on the street and it can be a hassle. Especially in the winter time here, when we have snowstorms and everyone has to have their car off the street by the time the trucks show up to clear the snow...or you can get a parking ticket 😬.
@SubstantialKick Our weather isn’t that severe, but the street cleaner comes, and I hear my neighbors going out to move their cars.
