Why can I remember lines from a 1996 film but not what was said to me yesterday at work?

Well 1996 was certainly an epic year for quotable movies. Yesterday's work bullshit isn't important. What's important is finding as many ways as possible to incorporate quotes from the movie The Rock into everyday conversation.
