Social assistance and tax cuts should be for people who demonstrate value by working hard and becoming millionaires only.
Sicarium · 46-50, M
Healthcare is not a right. It never was. That was a lie told you to by politicians who didn't think through the consequences.
Healthcare is a responsibility.

@Flenflyys:
I haven't attacked you. I have corrected you when you've claimed I said something I didn't, and I've said doing that is dishonest. Which it is.
I have tried repeatedly to keep you on topic. You've refused. You are the who won't directly respond to what I've said, not me.
I'm just going to point out the irony here and move on.
Didn't intend anything to be snarky. I was simply being honest. And, again, I'm not triggered, but see above about irony.
Feel free to mention what you consider to be facts and I'll address them.
Yes, you did.
Look, I'm not interested in personal attacks. Just not in the mood. Deal with me honestly, and I'll do the same with you. If not, oh well.
attacking the person you're having a disagreement with is never a good tactic.

Idk what all that crap is about but you clearly want to say less about what I'm saying and more about how I'm saying it

laden with your assumptions.

I said you were triggered because you provided a snarky response

But my all means, say nothing about the facts mentioned.
Feel free to mention what you consider to be facts and I'll address them.
Eta and I will reiterate since you seemed to have missed it a second time, I never said that you said that.
Why do people always use this argument? It's false. Wait times are not horribly long in other countries. The waiting for treatment until you're dead is a complete farce.
Yes, you did.

@AlienDreams: In every way.
In order to pay for itself, ObamaCare needed 24 million new payers enrolled. It had 11 million as of the end of 2016.
Everyone's premiums went up. By as much as 125%. That's today, not projections for if ObamaCare had continued.
We're in this mess now because the ObamaCare market exchanges are failing. Some states are down to one insurer and costs are skyrocketing. Without the repeal, some states would have nobody participating in the exchanges by the end of the year. That means no health care plans.
For the average family of four, a silver plan now costs $7,000 in premiums per year. That doesn't include deductibles and other out of pocket expenses, which are close to $13,000. $13,000 in out of pocket expenses before your insurance even kicks in. That is unacceptable.
You couldn't keep your doctor.
You couldn't keep your plan.
ObamaCare is dumping people onto Medicaid, which strains the Medicaid program for the people who genuinely need it and takes those potentially paying customers out of the exchanges, which drives up costs for everyone else.

A privilege for the wealthy and those born/aren't unlucky to go without any of the thousands of pre-existing conditions. If you're sick too damn bad

To most of the world it is, yes. But I think the US can afford to make it available for all its people.

@Ynotisay:
And by expanding government funded healthcare to everyone will decrease that cost? Or increase your return?
We pay the second most and get the least in return

@Ynotisay: The US is run like a business, not to serve it's people.
Ynotisay · M
@Ax17x7: Of course it will decrease the cost. That's what happens when you eliminate a profit recipient like the health insurance industry. And it's not about what it will do for me. It's about what it will do for everyone. THAT benefits me. And yeah...the return will be much greater if the money we already pay in taxes is reallocated from areas such as the military, unnecessary corporate subsidies(in conjunction with closing the countless tax loopholes most can't access and demanding that the very wealthiest pay a commiserate percentage as everyone else), to a single payer system.
And let's face it. We already get the least in return for our dollar now. Not really too far to fall, is there?

If you show up at a hospital with a health condition they have to treat you. So, it's a right. But I know that's not what you're talking about.
katielass · F
@StevetheSleeve: the law states a hospital must treat you regardless of your ability to pay IF it is a life and death situation. Most will treat you unless it's obviously something trivial. Examples would be you are in cardiac arrest, your right leg is hanging by a tiny piece of skin, your brains are oozing out of your cranium. However, there is no law requiring a doctor treat you. Isn't that interesting.
Ynotisay · M
It's always been a privilege in the U.S.

Yes.

@AlienDreams: Where is that in the constitution?

@katielass: never said that it was

@AlienDreams: You said it was a right. Our rights are spelled out in the constitution.

only for those that can afford it.
