Since I came to this world
SW-User
Everything's going to be alright as long as you stay balanced

Degbeme · 70-79, M
Very early. Both our parents worked so my brother an I came home from school and had to feed ourselves at lunch time.
SW-User
That was so awesome of you!
hunkalove · 61-69, M
About 14. I didn't have much choice.
SW-User
I see
curiosi · 61-69, F
I was in failure to thrive as an infant. My mother never did improve, I have never been cared for.
SW-User
I'm sorry to hear that, at least you've become stronger now because of her.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
!0. after my dad left.
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
True. But the things you have to go through leave a scar on your memory and a bigger one on your soul !!
SW-User
@Picklebobble2: You're right. I suppose we just have to strive for the best and push those memories back in the past
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Which is fine. If you have the capacity and the forethought to deal with it on your own.
Unfortunately humans do dumb things like involve other people in their lives and you just end up carrying it with you ! Only NOW you have the added aggro of having to deal with a partners troubles, as well as your own. and if you add kids to that mix.....
nedkelly · 61-69, M
NO WAY - Mrs Kelly looks after me at 58
SW-User
LOL!!!!!!!!
SW-User
14 or 15, around the time my mother became incapable of doing anything due to her excessive consumption of vodka..
SW-User
Aw that really sucks! I'm so sorry 😕
SW-User
@Alex1610: Thanks.:-)
She died when I was 21
I moved in with my Dad at 16 or 17
That lasted a few years..
He's not an alcoholic but a useless SOB..
SW-User
@MightyAphrodite: SOB 😂👍
15 or so. I was a pretty independent kid. I threatened to move out at barely 17. I made it to 18.
SW-User
Omg!!!!!!!! Me too!!!!!
I could do everything necessary to take care of myself by about 12. Once I started working, taking care of myself was much more appealing than living with controlling parents.
SW-User
@ProdigalSummer: WOW! I look up to you!
SummerDream · 31-35, F
i was a teenager mom... its surprising how fast you learn to adapt to a situation if you have to
SW-User
Yeah, it's fascinating, isn't it?

@lacsar: And what happened next?
SW-User
I don't think I ever thought I wasn't.
SW-User
That's impressive
SW-User
You think? I can't recall any point where I reached an epiphany about that. I've always thought I could do whatever I set my mind to.
SW-User
Wow...you were a very serious kid
Carver · 31-35, F
SW-User
@Carver: That must've been quite epic lol
Carver · 31-35, F
@Alex1610: Yeah but I didn't stay on my own for long since my sister needed a roommate so I moved in with her and we lived together for about two years. But I still felt I could take care of myself! 😂
SW-User
@Carver: Lol That's still acceptable!!!! 😂
thefallenhens · 26-30, T

SW-User
Late. I matured late too.
SW-User
