How do waitresses pull off that bright, bubbly demeanor so well?

Are you guys genuinely happy or just a world class actor?

When you’re in your 20s, people treat you like you’re committing a crime if you aren’t happy go lucky.

I feel fundamentally defunct as a woman because I’m not like that. And if I do try to force a smile, I look like I’m being held hostage

I can receive a compliment and yet still sometimes struggle to smile. I’m tired of causing people to feel awkward/unliked when they’re talking to me. So what’s the secret? Coke? Caffeine shot straight through the veins?

I've never worked as a waiter, but a huge part of it is that they are actually being super sarcastic when they smile. Like, imagine taking all of the anger and annoyance in your body and concentrating it into the corners of your mouth.
