[image/video - please log in to see this content]

Warning for it being a little icky to look at.

I tried washing it out with water, but it’s still dark. Is that normal? This is 9 hours later. It hurts so bad, arghhh. We’re going to put Neosporin on it, although I hesitate to do that with an open wound.. I know you guys aren’t doctors, but what do you do with something like this

Wash, disinfect with rubbing alcohol, apply Neosporin.
@Northwest I think the Friends episode about that gave a whole group of ppl the wrong notion.
@Northwest You were stuffed into school lockers and given swirlies a lot, weren't you.

Ouch! Hope you heal soon!

Disinfectant!!
Keep it clean and covered.
The lengths some people will go to in order to show off their legs and nails! 😉

This looks to be going the way these things go.

Keep it clean (avoid the goopy part) and let it air some.

Sorry & hope you heal quickly (if you aren't diabetic, likely ok).

@SomeMichGuy My nails look awful, so that wasn’t the point. I’m just a bit of a hypochondriac (‘:
@deciblues You nails are ok, your legs are great, and you aren't a hypochondriac.

And your profile photo is really nice.

So there! 🤪

Put some Polysporin on it and keep it covered!!
Amputate just above the knee. Use a sharpened carving knife to cut through the tissue and muscle on one side, as far as the bone, making sure to clamp any major blood vessels with paperclips. Then a junior hacksaw to cut through the bone, and then you want to cut through the lower half of the muscle/tissue about 8 inches further towards the ankle in order that you have a flap to fold over the open wound. The flap can be sealed with a stapler.

Dab with antiseptic and cover with a bandana or some shit. You'll be right as rain within six months or so 👀
Don't put alcohol that will hurt. Gently clean with soap and water and put neosporin on the bandaid.
Neosporin is good. But keep it open for quick healing.

Personally?
I'd use a high alcohol rub on it to disinfection, and keep it clean with a saline solution (just mix a teaspoon of salt with water).
It's gonna sting, but should keep it clean.

@deciblues it is more of an abrasion, so may not scab up.
deciblues · 26-30, F
@samueltyler2 Yeah, I hope it doesn’t. It’s starting to feel stiff(?) and that makes me wary. I had eraser burns waaay back in school where they’d ooze for a couple of days and then scab over and those were painful.. crossing my fingers that this doesn’t do the same
Let me kiss it and make it better.

I prefer washing it out with hydrogen peroxide. Then some Neosporin and a bandaid. I hope it heals quickly for you.
You need to properly wash it out with soap and wather, then rinse it with witch hazel, then cover it up with a gauze pad and paper tape. If it still looks bad this time tomorrow, get ro the ER.
