@Carla that would make sense except for all these whack job Christians think that most of us are going to hell anyway. Kind of defeats the purpose of comforting people.
@CestManan first the comfort that heaven is possible, then the threat that if you aren't following gods laws, then it's hell. But still an afterlife. Some peoe fear deeth so, that even petpetual hell is better than the idea of nothingness.
@Carla I think the reason that people imagine an afterlife is because it is next to Impossible for someone to imagine themself not existing in first person. Kind of like trying to remember things that happened before you were born, you just can't.
